The Blink XT Home Security Camera System is sold and promoted by Amazon by a company called Immedia Semiconductor. It’s advertised as an all-in-one video system with up to 5 detachable cameras to keep an eye on your property when your home or away!

The Blink XT motion sensor camera is a wireless system and is ready to start recording on the day you receive it. It comes with cloud storage, easy to install hone application, cables, batteries, and a sync device. For users with more significant property, you can have up to five independent cameras positioned inside and outside.
- Cables and clips
- Power adaptor
- User guide
- Bright warning stickers
- Attachables stickers
What we like about the Blink XT camera system is the free cloud storage, included batteries and quick delivery options. The products are light-weight and easy to set up because they are not hardwired! You have up to 2 years of battery life for each camera and an application that’s super easy to navigate, record and live view!
Setting up the Blink XT security cameras are easy to do; it takes around ten minutes out of the box. If you’re using more than one device, then take down the serial numbers because you will need to enter these into the master hub.
The master hub is hard-wired into both wi-fi and electricity supply. If you want to record over an area of 20 meters, then we suggest you use another model because this was the range we found the signal would cut out!
The Phone App
The phone app for Blink XT is easy to navigate and comes with many user-friendly options. If you want the cameras to be super sensitive, then you have an opportunity for this.
Just name each camera, and you know which camera has activated and the location. Other options include battery life, sensitivity, on/off, timers and assign other family members to view and enable individual cameras.
- Attach up to x10 individual cameras
- Free access to your camera cloud
- Set sensitivity and activation
- Waterproof and stormproof
- Wireless (WI-FI)
- Inferred Motion detection (very sensitive)
When we finally set up the device, positioned the cameras, installed the app and named each camera lens. The system worked very well, and each camera triggered every time.
We experimented with distance from the camera and found it activated from up to 15 meters away.
Very Sensitive Cameras
If you’re interested in wildlife, then the Blink XT will pick up and record birds, cats, foxes and any other wildlife using your property as a toilet! Due to the Blink XT cameras being so sensitive to any movement on your property!
- Only one camera setting and no zoom function
- Night time image is very grainy
- Only covers 20 meters sq area from the hub
One thing that let us down when experimenting with the Blink XT was the night time picture quality! You can make out faces, but they look grainy especially in poorly lit areas of my property.
Wezaggle suggests you always use a security light when using the Blink XT security camera system. This is because you will get a much better picture of any intruders!

We have experienced no false triggers and found the daytime recordings a good. Where the Blink XT video recorder lets itself down is the nighttime view. Although in HD you will still find it hard to recognize anyone a few meters away!
Should you buy the Blink XT system? Yes, it solid piece of equipment that is basic with no frills. You cannot zoom, pan around or take snapshots. But it works well if you’re looking for a device to record intruders inside and outside your property.
