BBQs are a huge part of any summer day family or social gathering. But, what is the best grills and BBQs for 2021?
With charcoal BBQs making a huge comeback because of taste and flavours, the gas BBQ has started to decline.
Gas Powered BBQs
Over the last ten years, gas powdered BBQs controlled the market and created some huge outside ovens that never quite tasted like BBQ food.
But, with the new range of smokers & grills, the charcoal BBQ is making a well-deserved comeback.
Gas-powered BBQs are a quick and very efficient way to cook foods in the garden. They heat instantly and work very well, but it’s still an oven in the garden.
What To Look For In A Good BBQ?
We all know a good BBQ cooks great foods, but what makes a BBQ right for you? When it comes to choosing a BBQ for your family you need to decide:
- How often you are going to use it?
- What size BBQ do you require?
- Gas, charcoal or both (hybrid BBQ)
- Easy clean system?
- Material: steel or stainless steel?
- Portable and easy to cover
Answering these questions above will help you determine what type of BBQ will suit you and your family. For quick BBQs without the taste then you should use a gas BBQ. If your looking for that great charcoal taste then go for the hybrid option with both gas and charcoals.

Caring For Your BBQ
Looking after your BBQ is key to getting the most from your money.
The better you look after your BBQ the longer it will last, if you are going to leave it in the garden all year round it must be covered.
TOP TIP: Never clean your grills in the dishwasher because they will discolour, crack and pit.
After every cook you must clean the grease, this is because grease is extra hard to remove after it has cooled down and set!
These two simple to cleaning your BBQ will make it last for many summers to come.
- Clean and degrease after every use
- Store out of the elements or use a good BBQ cover
FAQ’s About BBQs
I would advise you to not use a BBQ on decking. This is because grease will stain your decking. Once grease gets into your wooden decking boards it is extremely hard to remove and will stain the wood.
You cannot use charcoal in a gas BBQ, this could be very dangerous especially if the gas bottle is still attached. Another point to make is the metal casing has not been reinforced to hold hot coals and will ruin your gas BBQ.
Conclusion
Whatever type of BBQ you decide to use, keeping it in good condition will greatly improve its life.
We love BBQs in the summer because it gets everyone outside and socializing! Enjoy your summer with a new BBQ, great foods with friends and family.
Happy BBQing 😉
